JOSHUA TIME 04

JOSHUA TIME

I’m a twenty-four year old male and I have mild cerebral palsy.

We live today in a fast pace “microwave age” in other words we want things fast and no one likes to wait; we live today in an “instant age” no one likes waiting.

We have appointments we have to make and most people like to be early for their appointments.

An old high school saying, is “To be early is to be on time and to be on time is to be late.”

My “help service” provides me with speech therapy and the speech therapist comes to my apartment however, she will tell me a time she will be here she is never here at that time, in fact she is always late. I always have to stay here and wait for her to get here. I can never go out no where or do anything of that magnitude until my speech therapist gets here and sees me and that is not good for me because when she gets here I’m tired and ready to get comfortable and settle in.

I used to have a local doctor however this doctor moved to another location bigger building however same waiting time. Doctors make appointments and make people wait hours to be seen. I’m not downing the doctor in a way however, if they are going to make appointments do not make people wait to be seen. No one likes or ever goes to the doctor because it takes hours to be seen and when you are seen the doctor treats the problem not the patient. Some people might say I’m impatient but I will not wait I will either go back to the doctor or not go at all because I hate waiting. In fact that is what I did in July I had a doctor appointment and they was running behind I told them “I would be back if I was first to be seen with no waiting.” I was first to be seen with no waiting.

I do have a couple of solutions for the waiting it is go the first solution is go the appointment late.

The “walk ins” seemingly get priority anyway so go to your doctor appointment late and you will be seen at a reasonable time. If your late for the appointment and the doctor won’t see you tell them that they should see people on time. Some doctors will not see patients if they are late, this is good if the doctor treats the problem and the patient and sees the patient at a reasonable little waiting time.

My second solution for the doctor waiting time is not go the doctor at all but go the local clinic. We have several local clinics in London, Kentucky, and it will be more reasonable.

My third solution for the doctor waiting time is tied to the second solution and that is not go to the doctor but go the hospital at least at the hospital they have an excuse for there waiting time.

I know some things are practical other things are not practical.

Waiting on doctors and doctor appointment is not practical and should not be done. If the patient like me waits they get upset and going to the doctor upset raises blood pressure and causes more stress.

We live an “instant age” we can send emails in an instant people want things fast and hate waiting.

I am calling on the people to take a balanced stand and show the doctors no more waiting.

JOSHUA TIME

THIS IS A COLUMN THAT WAS PUBLISHED IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER IN AUGUST OF 2004

Responsibility has almost become cuss word, responsibility is something we must do inspite of the outcomes.

I have medicine that I call “dope” it is prescribed by doctors so I need to take it responsibly.
I loaned some “friends” some money it was there responsibility to pay me back however they never paid me back therefore I have not loaned them no more money. I was irresponsible in loaning these “friends” the money however, I have learned a lesson in responsibility. I had some “help services” again I had too much money on me and my “help” from the “help service” stole most of my money this person was nice enough to leave me sixty dollars.

We have heard a lot over time about “rights” and privileges, for example if your responsible enough to graduate high school and if you do in fact show up for walking the line practice you are then entitled to the privilege and the right to walk the graduating line.

There are “parenting rights” that is what I would like to hinge on is the parenting rights. If your on to watch the talk shows like I am you have watched shows like “Maury” and “Montel” these shows have DNA/PATERNITY tests sometimes it’s the girl who is trying to figure out who the “father” is however most of the time it’s the “father” denying the child. First of all no one should be having sex until after they are married. If a boy and girl do the irresponsible thing and have sex be prepared to pay child support. If you can not afford six to eight hundred dollars a month going out of your check to the baby’s mom the baby that you helped create then keep your pants up. We would not be having the problems that we are having if kids and adults would keep their pants up and keep their pants on. I’m some one who talks to the television I tell the guests get married then have sex and you won’t have these kind of problems.

The Ten Commandments is a historical documents it is also a moral conscience. The Supreme Court has ordered the ten commandments out of school because it will give people some sort of morale conscience to live by.

Obviously one could tell I’m a Christian and never had sex however, do I want to have sex? God created men and women to have desires no I have never had sex, nevertheless, I’m not going to preach to any one because that is not my job as a writer because my job as a writer. Obviously I am not in favor of same sex marriages or homosexuals not gays the word gay is defined in the dictionary as happy.

I will discuss the Ten Commandments and marriage and same sex marriages in later columns, however right now its time for the nuts and bolts to come out.

If one thinks they are ready to have sex and possibly get some one pregnant be prepared to step up be and man or woman and dish out the child support money or else keep the pants up and keep the pants on.

I’m a twenty-four year old male I have mild cerebral palsy.

I wanted to work however, as you will see no one will or would hire me and it hurts. In the summer of 1999 and the summer time of 2000 I tried to find work to do. I love to work and would work for free just to have something to do. I had applied for Kroger, Walmart, Kmart, Kroger was the only one to call me in for an interview the old Kroger. Kroger would not hire me because they “had no positions open” however hired people they just did not hire me.

In the summer of 2000 I got put on SSI because no one would hire me and because of my condition. I cried when I got my first check because I never wanted to be on it.
However the system does work it also has its flaws. It works by getting people evaluated before giving them anything. I have some “friends” who make over 600.00 a month the other “friend” is trying to get on disability. So they can work under the table. This “friend” has been denied disability more than once. These “friends” are the exact reason I did not want on SSI. The system also works by giving people on SSI a medical card. But some people like my “friends” abuse that very privilege of a medical card. My “friends” say they are broke all the time yet the one is trying to get on disability and the other one makes over 600.00 a month. My other “friend” has worked before and continues to work yet is trying to get on disability.

Kroger never hired me because I have cerebral palsy not because of there excuse for no positions open. Nevertheless, I’m on the system now. I have an income on the system and I give money to church from my income that I have.

Lets send a message to the “giants” Kroger Kmart and Walmart people can work if there given a chance to work. Its time to let these “giants” know that people the people have a voice and will use the voice.

Its time for the people to stand up against these “giants.”
Its time for people to tell people that can work to get there but to working…

People had told me about these “friends” however I never listened. These “friends” are the exact reason I never wanted to be on SSI because I knew people abused the system I just never knew how much the system was abused. The system is abused almost if not more than Bill Clinton abused his power.

Why am I reporting this 4 years later because I have the chance to report it and because I found out how people are. I knew people abused the system but I did not know it was abused that bad until I met my “friends”

The bad thing about being a writer is you are never done with any one piece you always think of more write and in time more things will come out just keep it here with Joshua Time…

JOSHUA TIME

I’m a 24 year old man I have cerebral palsy, which effects my walking.

In 2002 I was in a wheelchair.

When I go to Kmart and Wal-Mart they have motorized wheelchair which e somewhat easier to use. In fact my neighbors screwed me over by getting themselves a scooter using my medical card. I eventually I had the scooter took back.

For the past six[6] to eight [8] months Kmart’s motorized wheelchair has been down or “out of order.” I asked Kmart when it would be fixed they said, that they had ordered a battery for it and it would be fixed soon. That has been about a month ago.

To be “fair and balanced” Wal-Mart had a similar problem and one of their employees was rude.
I had attempted to contact Wal-Mart’s manager but could never get with him.

Wal-Mart has fixed their motorized wheelchair problem. However, Kmart has yet to fix their problem if Kmart can not get a new battery of some sort then they should get a new-motored wheelchair. Kmart does have a wheelchair and its manual with no feet.

I understand Kmart is having financial problems and all. However, for people like my 66-year-old grand mother who has arthritis and myself, I have a hard time walking as it is; it is hard for us to walk around in stores.

I’m asking the people to tell Kmart its time. Time to do something. Tell Wal-Mart it is time as well time to be kind courteous and fair. I had tried to get up with Wal-Mart’s manager but never got him.

All of this over a motorized wheelchair lets send a message and say it is time to fix the problems.

All of this in the name of fairness I have tried to be “fair and balanced” giving thoughts on both “giants” Wal-Mart and Kmart.
