JOSHUA TIME 285

Navy SEALs are always taught to:

1) Keep your priorities in order and,

2) Know when to act without hesitation.

A Navy SEAL was attending some college courses between assignments,
after having completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

One of the courses was taught by a professor who was an avowed atheist
and a member of the ACLU. One day he shocked the class when he came in,
looked to the ceiling, and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I
want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15
minutes."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.

Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God I'm
still waiting."

When it got down to the last couple of minutes, the SEAL got out of his
chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him--knocking him off
the platform.

The professor was out cold.

The SEAL went back to his seat and sat there silently.

The other students, shocked and stunned, sat there looking on in
silence.

Noticeably shaken when the professor eventually came to, he looked at
the SEAL and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you
do that?"

The SEAL calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America's
soldiers who are protecting your right to talk and act stupid. So, He
sent me."

Try TO KEEP THIS ONE GOINGRuth went to her mail box and there was only one letter. She picked it upand looked at it before opening, but then she looked at the envelope again. There was no stamp, no postmark, only her name and address. She read theletter:Dear Ruth:I`m going to be in your neighborhood Saturday afternoon and I'd like to stopby for a visit.Love Always, JesusHer hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table. "Why would theLord want to visit me?I'm nobody special. I don't have anything to offer."With that thought, Ruth remembered her empty kitchen cabinets. "Oh mygoodness, I really don't have anything to offer. I'll have to run down tothe store and buy something for dinner." She reached for her purse andcounted out its contents. Five dollars and forty cents. "Well, I can getsome bread and cold cuts, at least."She threw on her coat and hurried out the door.A loaf of French bread, a half-pound of sliced turkey, and a carton ofmilk..leaving Ruth with grand total twelve cents to last her until Monday.Nonetheless, she felt good as she headed home, her meager offerings tuckedunder her arm."Hey lady, can you help us, lady?"Ruth had been so absorbed in her dinner plans, she hadn't even noticed twofigures huddled in the alleyway. A man and a woman, both of them dressed inlittle more than rags"Look lady, I ain't got a job, ya know, and my wife and I have been livingout here on the street, and, well, now it's getting cold and we're gettingkinda hungry and, well, if you could help us. Lady, we'd really appreciateit."Ruth looked at them both. They were dirty, they smelled bad and frankly, she was certain that theycould get some kind of work if they really wanted to."Sir, I'd like to help you, but I'm a poor woman myself. All I have is a fewcold cuts and some bread, and I'm having an important guest for dinnertonight and I was planning on serving that to Him.""Yeah, well, okay lady, I understand. Thanks anyway."The man put his arm around the woman's shoulders, turned and headed backinto the alley. As she watched them leave, Ruth felt a familiar twinge in her heart."Sir, wait!" The couple stopped and turned as she ran down the alley afterthem. "Look, why don't you take this food. I'll figure out something else toserve my guest." She handed the man her grocery bag."Thank you lady. Thank you very much!""Yes, thank you!" It was the man's wife, and Ruth could see now that she wasshivering. "You know, I've got another coat at home. Here, why don't youtake this one." Ruth unbuttoned her jacket and slipped it over the woman'sshoulders. Then smiling, she turned and walked back to the street...withouther coat and with nothing to serve her guest."Thank you lady!Thank you very much!"Ruth was chilled by the time she reached her front door, and worried too.The Lord was coming to visit and she didn't have anything to offe! r Him.She fumbled through her purse for the door key. But as she did, she noticedanother envelope in her mailbox."That's odd. The mailman doesn't usually come twice in one day." She tookthe envelope out of the box and opened it.Dear Ruth:It was so good to see you again. Thank you for the lovely meal. And thankyou, too, for the beautiful coat.Love Always JesusThe air was still cold, but even without her coat, Ruth no longer noticedIf you love Jesus, send this to ten people. Do not keep this message. Themantra must leave your hands within 96 hours. You will get a very pleasant surprise. This is true, even if you are not superstitious.Very good things will happen to everyone that touches this story

JOSHUA TIME 280

Hi ya'll,
This is a letter from Kenney's cousin in Indianapolis Indiana. Just in case there's any of you that might be facing a hard battle and no end in sight....know that God's still working even when we don't see it, and that PRAYER WORKS.
Paula

Hey everybody.... Just took my mom for her two week checkup (since her hospital release) with the liver specialist from I.U. I am so so so so thankful to tell you that we got a good report. She is very very weak, and her breathings labored with just a few steps, but we still have a good report.

He said her liver is now small, when a few weeks ago, it was "humongously enlarged", thats what they told us then. It's gone back down, which I'm so thankful for. Theres only a little fluid around her right lung, which he said that the shunts that they inserted into her liver would take care of as time goes on. When they had taken the last fluid off, when she was smothering so drastically, just two weeks ago today, they hadn't taken all of it off, so that was left over from that, and no more has accumulated, which is a real miracle for my mom.

Even though he submitted her name to Methodist to be on a list for a liver transplant, and she was scared to death when she got that call yesterday, he told her that this was only a last choice thing, and his main intent was to get her liver that she was born with, to working right, so the transplant thing is just a last resort thing, a "just in case" thing. When she was in the hospital all those weeks, they talked transplant alot, but now, they're talking "possibility of getting hers where they need it", and thats what I'm shooting for. I'll take the transplant, if need be, but I want hers to work. she's already come such a long way, and has actually been prayed right out of the jaws of death, so many times, these last few weeks. The liver specialist, I think, has even become a believer, because when they were preparing to do the liver procedure on her a few weeks ago, he gave us no hope. He said she was between a rock and a hard place. She'd die without the procedure, and with all her complications, did not have much chance with it. That was then...This is now!

Prayer works. I don't know who got it through, or if it was a combination of folks, I don't really care....the important part is even though we still have somewhat of a battle before us, there appears to be some life in my moms future. Had things gone on at Community South, with the same doctor and such, my mom would already be buried by now. I could write a book on how the Lord worked things out, one at a time, when we were totally lost in not knowing what to do. He just laid the right things in our hands, like you would not believe, and we later found out that this was not normal, and that it was something the Lord had actually taken care of for us.

Well, I'd better go, its bed time, but since I'd asked for your prayers, I had to give an update. My life has been totally changed these last weeks, along with my mom. I'm so thankful, and will never forget what He's done, unless altzheimers were to take my thoughts away.

Thank you all so much, for your prayers, and continue to pray for her. He's still got a battle, but at least theres promise. God bless you all......Love you all, pam

JOSHUA TIME 279

This week's promise: God will fight for you
Have you had a "Jericho" experience?
Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 NLT
Taking Jericho
Imagine this scene for a minute. You're a captain in Joshua's army camped a few miles outside the city of Jericho. You've seen the thick, double-layered stone walls surrounding the city and armed soldiers guarding every entrance. You've heard tales of the fierce Canaanite army and their ability to hold their ground in battle.
In the midst of all of this, an edict comes down from the upper ranks. Israel is planning to take Jericho. Actually, what the message says is that Israel has already taken Jericho, but Jericho just doesn't know it yet. The battle plan is really no plan at all. You're supposed to get your troops together and conduct a victory march around the city. Just once—for six days in a row. Then on the seventh day you're to march seven times around the city. That's when your soldiers can march in and take possession.
The next day you're marching around the city, and you can't help but hear the taunts coming from inside the walls. You know how silly this all looks, but you keep marching just the same. Because you know that God is on your side, and you've seen what he can do.
This is why God reminded Joshua time and again to "be strong and courageous." God has a way of working that tends to fall outside the norm, and he needs people who trust him enough to go the distance, no matter how bizarre the game plan. Courage is important to God because courage is a natural byproduct of trust. And the greater we trust, the braver we become. As long as God leads the battle, we can march in confidence, knowing that we've already won. God gave Jericho to Israel on the seventh day, just as he said he would. So,…what wall does he have you marching around?

THIS IS THE RESPONSE FROM MY EKU ADVISOR

Joshua,

JOU 425 is the capstone course for the journalism major. JOU 201 and JOU 310 are prerequisites. Unless you've had those courses (and usually an internship or a practicum), you're not ready to take JOU 425. Most students in the class are seniors or advanced juniors.

Liz Hansen

Joshua,

COM 200 would be the place to start in the journalism major. If no classes are available in journalism, look for psychologry or speech courses that are still open that meet the minor requirements. I also noticed you still need a physical lab science and a health course. You might want to check on those.

JOSHUA TIME 277

Read only if you have time for God Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom. I almost deleted this email but I was blessed when I got to the end. Subject: READ ONLY IF YOU HAVE TIME FOR God God, when I received this e-mail, I thought... I don't have time for this... And, this is really inappropriate during work. Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is... Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today. We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning... Maybe, Sunday night... And, the unlikely event of a midweek service. We do like to have Him around during sickness... And, of course, at funerals. However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play... Because.. That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own. May God forgive me for ever thinking... That... there is a time or place where.. HE is not to be FIRST in my life. We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us. If, You aren't ashamed to do this... Please follow the directions. Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father." Not ashamed? Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!! Yes, I do Love God. HE is my source of existence and Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me. (Phil 4:13) This is the simplest test. If You Love God... And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you... Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you! I don't think I know 10 people who would admit they love Jesus. Do You love Him? THE POEM I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, And jumped up off my knees. My Christian duty was now done My soul could rest at ease. All day long I had no time To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of Christ to friends, They'd laugh at me I'd fear. No time, no time, too much to do, That was my constant cry, No time to give to souls in need But at last the time, the time to die. I went before the Lord, I came, I stood with downcast eyes. For in his hands God held a book; It was the book of life. God looked into his book and said "Your name I cannot find. I once was going to write it down... But never found the time" Now do you have the time to pass it on? Make sure that you scroll through to the end. Easy vs. Hard Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie? Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up? Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff? Why is it so boring to look at a Christian magazine, but yet so easy to look at a nasty one? Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones? Why are the churches getting smaller but yet the bars and dance clubs are getting larger? Do you give up? Think about it . Are you going to forward this, or delete it? Just remember-God is watching you. Prayer Wheel-Let's see the devil stop this one! Here's what the wheel is all about. When you receive this, say a prayer for the person that sent it to you.... That's all you have to do.... There is nothing attached.... This is so powerful.... Do not stop the wheel, please.... Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one.... There are no costs, but wonderful rewards... GOD BLESS! May God keep you and bless you. If this doesn't give you chills, nothing will...this message is very true. Hope you are all as blessed as I was from this story. I wonder how many people will delete this without reading it because of the title on it? There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak..."I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, "What you got there, son?" "! Just some old birds," came the reply. "What are you gonna do with them?" I asked. "Take 'em home and have fun with 'em," he answered. "I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time." "But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do?" "Oh, I got some cats," said the little boy. "They like birds. I'll take 'em to them." The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?" "Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!" "How much?" the pastor asked again. The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?" The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone. The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free. Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story. One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!" "What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked. Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!" "And what will you do when you get done with them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly. "How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked "Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!" "How much?" He asked again. Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears and your life." Jesus said, "DONE!" Then He paid the price. The pastor picked up the cage he opened the door and he walked from the pulpit. Notes: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Isn't it funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God). Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing? Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. I pray, for everyone who sends this to their entire address book, they will be blessed by God in a way special for them. And send it back to the person who sent it, to let them know that indeed it was sent out to many more. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!!!"I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!"

Pick Four and Send back To Me. God still sits on the throne. Each and every one of us are going through tough times right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.
My instructions were to pick four people that I wanted God to bless, and I picked you. Please pass this to at least four people you want to be blessed and a copy back to me. This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another. The prayer: Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those I care deeply for who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through < /! FONT>Your grace.
Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs.Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings. In Jesus' precious name Amen. (If the Lord lays upon your heart to send this to more than four people, you are truly blessed.) <><><><><><><><><><><><> TRUTH For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ~ John 1:17

I love you this much and he stretched his arms to the cross and died for us. if you believe in god you will send this to everyone on your list. If you delete this you will have a cold heart in 2007. JOSHUA TIME 272

I'm sending this to you to enjoy. This 102 year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who isfully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hairfashionably coifed and face shaved perfectly, even though he islegally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70years recently passed away, making the move necessary. Aftermany hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursinghome, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, Iprovided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on hiswindow. "I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of aneight-year-old having just been presented with a newpuppy. "Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait." "That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied."Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether Ilike my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture isarranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided tolove it. "It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting thedifficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longerwork, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'llfocus on the new day and all the happy memories I'vestored away. Just for this time in my life. Old ageis like a bank account. You withdraw from whatyou've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot ofhappiness in the bank account of memories. Thank youfor your part in filling my Memory bank. I am stilldepositing. Remember the five simple rules to be happy: 1. Free your heart f rom hatred. 2. Free your mind from worries. 3. Live simply. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less. Pass this message to 7 people except me. You willreceive a miracle tomorrow. Now, STOP! Did you hear what I just said. You WILLreceive a miracle tomorrow. So send it right now!! OK??

don't usually forward these messages, but I am not taking any chance...
This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, he saw me, and he asked: "My child, what is your greatest wish for today?" I responded:"Lord, please take care of the person who is reading this message, theirfamily and their special friends. They deserve it, and I love them verymuch".The love of God is like the ocean: you can see its beginning, but not itsend. This message works on the day you receive it. To some, it may sounddumb, but the person who sent this to me was impressed with the time. Letus see if it is true. Angels exist, but sometimes, since they don't allhave wings, we call them friends, such as you.Pass this on to your true friends. Something good will happen to youtoday at 11:11 in the evening. Something that you have been waiting tohear. This is not a joke. Someone will call you by phone or speak to you aboutsomething that you were waiting to hear, or an angel will give you amessage in your dreams.Do not break this chain - send it to a minimum of 7 people.

Make sure you sign! This is just an attempt of the devil to take "Christ" out of "Christmas". I signed.
Happy Thanksgiving

Companies Ban 'Christmas,' Not Worried About Backlash
Dear Sarah,
Several retailers have joined in the push to ban the use of "Christmas" in their in-store promotions and retail advertising. The new push to eliminate "Christmas" and replace it with "Happy Holidays," "Season's Greetings," etc. is gaining ground with several retailers participating. Not wanting to offend a handful of complainers, these companies are willing to offend the vast majority who hold Christmas as a time to celebrate the birth of Christ. Their attitude is that those who identify themselves as Christians don't care if they eliminate "Christmas." While it is too late to make changes this year, we have already sent letters to several major retailers we have identified as participating in banning "Christmas," asking them to put Christmas back into their in-store promotions and retail advertising next year. We have sent letters to the chairmen of Target, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Kmart/Sears, Costco, Kohl's and Lowe's about their practice. (Lowe's even refuses to promote their trees as Christmas trees, but calls them "Holiday Trees." Their toll-free number is 1-800-445-6937.) Please sign our petition letting these companies know that banning "Christmas" in their promotions and advertising next year will result in a loss of business. As we identify other companies participating in this practice, we will contact them. We need your support to be effective. That is why we need your petition. Please help us get the word out by forwarding this to your friends and family. Many of them will want to participate. We will keep you informed on which companies make changes and which ones refuse.
Click Here To Sign The Petition Now!Thanks for caring enough to get involved.
Sincerely,
Don

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2005 2006 when... 1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave. 2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. 3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers for your family of 3. 4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you. 5 Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses. 6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. 7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen. 8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. 10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee. 11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : ) 12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing. 13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message. 14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. 15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list. AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself. Good Wishes for many SUCCESSES & loads of BLESSINGS !

THE LAW IS THE LAW !>>This is one of the better e-mails I have received in a long time! I hope >this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!! JOSHUA TIME 267

If I don't get this back, I will know you really didn't read it. I got this from someone andthought the last part was really a good thought. Too bad that the person who sent it to me didnot know 10 people who would admit to knowing the Lord.

If I send this to you, please send it back so I will know that my friends do know the Lord.

I know 10 people.

Do You Love Him?

This is a simple test:

IF YOU LOVE JESUS, SENDTHIS TO AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE PERSON WHO SENT IT TO YOU!

THE POEM I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, And jumped up off my knees. My Christian duty was now done My soul could rest at ease..... All day long I had no time To spread a word of cheer No time to speak of Christ to friends, They'd laugh at me I'd fear. No time, no time, too much to do, That was my constant cry, No time to give to souls in need But at last the time, the time to die. I went before the Lord, I came, I stood with downcast eyes. For in his hands God! held a book; It was the book of life. God looked into his book and said "Your name I cannot find I once was going to write it down... But never found the time" Now do you have the time to pass it on?
