CHECK JOSHUA TIME 601 OUT TO IMPORTANT

JOSHUA TIME 613

Sandra felt as low as the heels of her shoes as she pushed against a November gust and the florist shop door.
Her life had been easy, like a spring breeze. Then in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a minor automobile accident stole that from her.
During this Thanksgiving week she would have delivered a son. She grieved over her loss. As if that weren't enough, her husband's company threatened a transfer. Then her sister, whose holiday visit she coveted, called saying she could not come for the holiday.
Then Sandra's friend infuriated her by suggesting her grief was a God-given path to maturity that would allow her to empathize with others who suffer. She has no idea what I'm feeling, thought Sandra with a shudder.
Thanksgiving? Thankful for what? She wondered. For a careless driver whose truck was hardly scratched when he rear-ended her? For an airbag that saved her life but took that of her child?
"Good afternoon, can I help you?" The shop clerk's approach startled her.
"I....I need an arrangement," stammered Sandra.
"For Thanksgiving? Do you want beautiful but ordinary, or would you like to challenge the day with a customer favorite I call the Thanksgiving "Special?" asked the shop clerk. "I'm convinced that flowers tell stories," she continued. "Are you looking for something that conveys 'gratitude' this thanksgiving?"
"Not exactly!" Sandra blurted out. "In the last five months, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong."
Sandra regretted her outburst, and was surprised when the shop clerk said, "I have the perfect arrangement for you."
Just then the shop door's small bell rang, and the shop clerk said, "Hi, Barbara...let me get your order." She politely excused herself and walked toward a small workroom, then quickly reappeared, carrying an arrangement of greenery, bows, and long-stemmed thorny roses. Except the ends of the rose stems were neatly snipped: there were no flowers.
"Want this in a box?" asked the clerk.
Sandra watched for the customer's response. Was this a joke? Who would want rose stems with no flowers! She waited for laughter, but neither woman laughed.
"Yes, please," Barbara, replied with an appreciative smile. "You'd think after three years of getting the special, I wouldn't be so moved by its significance, but I can feel it right here, all over again," she said as she gently tapped her chest. And she left with her order.
"Uh," stammered Sandra, "that lady just left with, uh....she just left with no flowers!
"Right, said the clerk, "I cut off the flowers. That's the Special. I call it the Thanksgiving Thorns Bouquet."
"Oh, come on, you can't tell me someone is willing to pay for that!" exclaimed Sandra.
"Barbara came into the shop three years ago feeling much like you feel today," explained the clerk. "She thought she had very little to be thankful for. She had lost her father to cancer, the family business was failing, her son was into drugs, and she was facing major surgery."
"That same year I had lost my husband," continued the clerk, "and for the first time in my life, had just spent the holidays alone. I had no children, no husband, no family nearby, and too great a debt to allow any travel."
"So what did you do?" asked Sandra.
"I learned to be thankful for thorns," answered the clerk quietly. "I've always thanked God for the good things in my life and never questioned the good things that happened to me, but when bad stuff hit, did I ever ask questions! It took time for me to learn that dark times are important. I have always enjoyed the 'flowers' of life, but it took thorns to show me the beauty of God's comfort. You know, the Bible says that God comforts us when we're afflicted, and from His consolation we learn to comfort others."
Sandra sucked in her breath as she thought about the very thing her friend had tried to tell her. "I guess the truth is I don't want comfort. I've lost a baby and I'm angry with God."
Just then someone else walked in the shop. "Hey, Phil!" shouted the clerk to the balding, rotund man.
"My wife sent me in to get our usual Thanksgiving Special....12 thorny, long-stemmed stems!" laughed Phil as the clerk handed him a tissue-wrapped arrangement from the refrigerator.
"Those are for your wife?" asked Sandra incredulously. "Do you mind me asking why she wants something that looks like that?"
"No...I'm glad you asked," Phil replied. "Four years ago my wife and I nearly divorced. After forty years, we were in a real mess, but with the Lord's grace and guidance, we slogged through problem after problem. He rescued our marriage. Jenny here (the clerk) told me she kept a vase of rose stems to remind her of what she learned from "thorny" times, and that was good enough for me. I took home some of those stems. My wife and I decided to label each one for a specific "problem" and give thanks for what that problem taught us."
As Phil paid the clerk, he said to Sandra, "I highly recommend the Special!"
"I don't know if I can be thankful for the thorns in my life." Sandra said. "It's all too...fresh."
"Well," the clerk replied carefully, "my experience has shown me that thorns make roses more precious. We treasure God's providential care more during trouble than at any other time. Remember, it was a crown of thorns that Jesus wore so we might know His love. Don't resent the thorns."
Tears rolled down Sandra's cheeks. For the first time since the accident, she loosened her grip on resentment. "I'll take those twelve long-stemmed thorns, please," she managed to choke out.
"I hoped you would," said the clerk gently. "I'll have them ready in a minute."
"Thank you. What do I owe you?"
"Nothing. Nothing but a promise to allow God to heal your heart. The first year's arrangement is always on me." The clerk smiled and handed a card to Sandra. "I'll attach this card to your arrangement, but maybe you would like to read it first."
It read: "My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant." Praise Him for your roses; thank him for your thorns!
Please pass Daily-Blessings on to your friends, family, and co-workers!! !

To all you mothers.>>>> For those who are lucky to be blessed with your Mom this is beautiful. >> For those who aren't, this is even more beautiful.>>>> The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long >> way?" she asked. And the guide said "Yes, and the way is hard. And you >> will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better >> than the beginning.">>>> But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything >> could be better than these years. So she played with her children, she >> fed them and bathed them, and taught them how to tie their shoes and ride >> a bike and reminded them to feed the dog, and to do their homework and >> brush their teeth. The sun shone on them and the young mother cried, >> nothing will ever be lovelier than this. Then the nights came, and the >> storms, and the path was sometimes dark, and the children shook with fear >> and cold, and the mother drew them close and covered them with her arms, >> and the children said, "Mother we are not afraid, for you are near, and >> no harm can come." And the morning came and their was a hill ahead and >> the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at >> all times she said to her children, "A little patience and we are there". >> So the children climbed, and as they climbed they learned to weather the >> storms. And with this, she gave them strength to face the world. Year >> after year, she showed them compassion, understanding, hope, but most of >> all, unconditional love. And when they reached the top they said, >> "Mother we would never have done it without you". The days went on and >> the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she >> became little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and >> walked with courage. And the mother, when she lay down at night, looked >> up at the stars and said, " this is a better day than the last, for my >> children have learned so much and are now passing these traits on to >> their children" and when the way became rough for her they lifted her and >> gave her their strength just as she had given them hers. One day they >> came to a hill, and beyond the hill, they could see a shining road and >> golden gates flung wide. And mother said, "I have reached the end of my >> journey and now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my >> children can walk with dignity and pride, with their heads held high, and >> so can their kids after them" And the children said, "You will always >> walk with us mother even when you have gone through the gates" And they >> stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after >> her. And they said, "we cannot see her but she is with us still, a >> mother like ours is more than a memory, she is a living presence." Your >> mother is always with you she's the whisper of the leaves as you walk >> down the street, she's the smell of certain food you remember, flowers >> you picked and the perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your >> brow when your not feeling well, she's your breath in the air on a cold >> winters day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the >> color of a rainbow, she is christmas morning. Your mother lives inside >> your laughter, she is crystallized in every tear drop. A mother shows >> every emotion, happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, >> helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow, and all the while, hoping and >> praying you will only know the good feelings in life. She's the place >> you come from, your first home, she's the map you follow with every step >> you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first >> enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, nor space, nor >> even death!>>>>>>>>

WHEN CHRIST COMES - - -by Max LucadoYou are in your car driving home. Thoughts wander to the game you want to see or meal you want to eat, whensuddenly a sound unlike any you've ever heard fillsthe air.The sound is high above you.A trumpet?A choir?A choir of trumpets? You don't know, but you want to know.So you pull over, get out of your car, and look up. Asyou do, you see you aren't the only curious one. Theroadside has become a parking lot. Car doors are open, and people are staring at the sky. Shoppers are racingout of the grocery store. The Little League baseball game across the street hascome to a halt. Players and parents are searching theclouds. And what they see, and what you see, has neverbefore been seen.As if the sky were a curtain, the drapes of theatmosphere part. A brilliant light spills onto theearth. There are no shadows. None. From whence camethe light begins to tumble a river of color spikingcrystals of every hue ever seen and a million morenever seen. Riding on the flow is an endless fleet ofangels. They pass through the curtains one myriad at atime, until they occupy every square inch of the sky.North.South.East.West.Thousands of silvery wings rise and fall in unison, and over the sound of the trumpets, you can hear thecherubim and seraphim chanting, Holy, holy, holy. The final flank of angels is followed by twenty-foursilver-bearded elders and a multitude of souls whojoin the angels in worship.Presently the movement stops and the trumpets aresilent, leaving only the triumphant triplet: Holy, holy, holy. Between each word is a pause. With eachword, a profound reverence. You hear your voice joinin the chorus. You don't know why you say the words, but you know you must.Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet. The angels turn, you turn, the entire world turns andthere He is.Jesus.Through waves of light you see the silhouetted figureof Christ the King.He is atop a great stallion, and the stallion is atopa billowing cloud. He opens his mouth, and you are surrounded by hisdeclaration:I am the Alpha and the Omega. The angels bow their heads. The elders remove their crowns. And before you is a Figure so consuming that you know, instantly you know:Nothing else matters.Forget stock markets and school reports.Sales meetings and football games.Nothing is newsworthy..All that mattered, matters no more....for Christ has come. .This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, he saw me, and heasked:My child, what is your greatest wish for today?I responded:"Lord please; take care of the person who is reading this message, theirfamily and their special friends. They deserve it and I love them verymuch"The love of God is like the ocean, you can see its beginnings but Notitsend.ANGELS EXIST, but sometimes, since they don't all have wings we callthemFRIENDS, SUCH AS YOU.
