young folks won't remember..older ones will

Thought you might be interested in this forgotten bit of information..........

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"

Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?"

"No, sir," continued Ollie.

"No? And why not?" the senator asked.

"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."

"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.

"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.

"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"

"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.

"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.

"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.

"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

Also:
Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren C hristopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.

Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified.
It was censored in the US from all later reports.

Meeting @ 11:00
This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me, and asked:
"My child, what is your greatest wish for today?"
I responded:
"Lord please, take care of the person who is reading this message, their family and their special friends they deserve it and I love them very much."
The love of God is like the ocean, you can see its beginning, but not its end. This message works on the day you receive it. Do not break this prayer; send it to a minimum of 5 people .

GREAT DOG STORY

Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named 'Lucky.'
Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a week end visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.

Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's other favorite toys. Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box.

It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer.
Something told her she was going to die of this disease....in fact, she was just sure it was fatal. She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders.

The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky. A thought struck her...what would happen to Lucky? Although the three-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die, Lucky will be abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand that I didn't want to leave him. The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.

The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.

Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital.
When she arrived home, Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.

When Mary woke, for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. She couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way to laughter when Mary realized the problem. She was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned! While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. He had covered her with his love.

Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day. It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free. Lucky? He still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his greatest treasure.

Remember.... Live every day to the fullest. Each minute is a blessing from God. And never forget....the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care for us.

If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours!

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

BLESSINGS

God still sits on the throne.

Each and everyone one of us are going through tough times right now,
but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the
faith.

My instructions were to pick four people that I wanted God to bless,
and I picked you. Please pass this to at least (4) people you want to be
blessed and a copy back to me.

This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one
another.

The prayer:
Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care
deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your
love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this
very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where
there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Where
there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families,
finances, their goings and their comings. In Jesus' precious name.
Amen.

(If the Lord lays upon your heart to send this to more than four people, you are truly
blessed).

For Those Born 1930-1979

>

Those Born 1930-1979
READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO. IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts o r air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter an d drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because,
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms........
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointme nt. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them.CONGRATULATIONS !

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good .
While you a re at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us...go ahead and delete this.
For the rest of us...pass this on.

Shoes in Church

Good morning, good friends;
Hope you have a great weekend.
Enjoy.

> I showered and shaved............. I adjusted my tie.
>
> I got there and sat.............. In a pew just in time.
>
> Bowing my head in prayer......... As I closed my eyes.
>
> I saw the shoe of the man next to me..... Touching my own I
>sighed.
>
> With plenty of room on either side..... I thought, "Why must our
>soles touch?"
>
> It bothered me, his shoe touching mine... But it didn't bother
>him much.
>
> A prayer began: "Our Father"............. I thought, "This man
>with the shoes...has no pride.
>
> They're dusty, worn, and scratched. Even worse, there are holes
>on the side!"
>
> "Thank You for blessings," the prayer went on.
>
> The shoe man said.............. a quiet "Amen."
>
> I tried to focus on the prayer....... But my thoughts were on
>his shoes again.
>
> Aren't we supposed to look our best...When walking through that
>door?
>
> "Well, this certainly isn't it," I thought, Glancing toward the
>floor.
>
> Then the prayer was ended............ And the songs of praise
>began.
>
> The shoe man was certainly loud...... Sounding proud as he sang.
>
>
> His voice lifted the rafters........ His hands were raised high.
>
>
> The Lord could surely hear... The shoe man's voice from the sky.
>
>
> It was time for the offering....... And what I threw in was
>steep.
>
> I watched as the shoe man reached... Into his pockets so deep.
>
> I saw what was pulled out.......... What the shoe man put in.
>
> Then I heard a soft "clink"... as when silver hits tin.
>
> The sermon really bored me.......... To tears, and that's no
>lie.
>
> It was the same for the shoe man... For tears fell from his
>eyes.
>
> At the end of the service..... As is the custom here.
>
> We must greet new visitors... And show them all good cheer.
>
> But I felt moved somehow............. And wanted to meet the
>shoe man.
>
> So after the closing prayer....... I reached over and shook his
>hand.
>
> He was old and his skin was dark..... And his hair was truly a
>mess.
>
> But I thanked him for coming......... For being our guest.
>
> He said, "My names' Charlie.......... I'm glad to meet you, my
>friend."
>
> There were tears in his eyes...... But he had a large, wide
>grin.
>
> "Let me explain," he said......... Wiping tears from his eyes.
>
> "I've been coming here for months.... And you're the first to
>say 'Hi.'"
>
> "I know that my appearance........."Is not like all the rest.
>
> "But I really do try................."To always look my best."
>
> "I always clean and polish my shoes..."Before my very long walk.
>
>
> "But by the time I get here........"They're dirty and dusty,
>like chalk."
>
> My heart filled with pain............ and I swallowed to hide my
>tears.
>
> As he continued to apologize......... For daring to sit so near.
>
>
> He said, "When I get here.........."I know I must look a sight.
>
> "But I thought if I could touch you..."Then maybe our souls
>might unite."
>
> I was silent for a moment............ Knowing whatever was said
>
> Would pale in comparison... I spoke from my heart, not my head.
>
> "Oh, you've touched me," I said......"And taught me, in part;
>
> "That the best of any man............"Is what is found in his
>heart."
>
> The rest, I thought,................ This shoe man will never
>know.
>
> Like just how thankful I really am... That his dirty old shoe
>touched my soul
>
> You are special to me and you have made a difference in my life.
>
>
> I respect you, and truly cherish you.
>
> Send this to your friends,
>
> No matter how often you talk,
>
> Or how close you are, And send it to the person who sent it to
>you.
>
> Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new
>friends you never will.
>
> Remember, everyone needs a friend.
>
> Someday you might feel like you have no friends at all.
> Just remember this e-mail and take comfort in knowing that

Male or Female

You might not have known this but a lot of non-living objects are actually
either
male or female!

Here are some examples:

FREEZER BAGS: They are male, because they hold everything in, but you can
see right
through them.

PHOTOCOPIERS: These are female, because once turned off; it takes a while
to warm them up again. They are an effective reproductive device if the
right buttons are pushed, but can also wreak havoc if you push the wrong
buttons.

TIRES: Tires are male, because they go bald easily and are often over
inflated.

HOT AIR BALLOONS: Also a male object, because to get them to go anywhere,
you have
to light a fire under their butt.

SPONGES: These are female, because they are soft, squeezable and retain
water.

WEB PAGES:
Female, because they're constantly being looked at and frequently getting
hit on.

TRAINS: Definitely male, because they always use the same old lines for
picking up
people.

EGG TIMERS: Egg timers are female because, over time, all the weight
shifts to the
bottom.

HAMMERS: Male, because in the last 5000 years, they've hardly changed at
all, and
are occasionally handy to have around.

THE REMOTE CONTROL: Female. Ha! You probably thought it would be male, but
consider
this: It easily gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while
he doesn't
always know which buttons to push, he just keeps trying.

JOSHUA TIME 843

this is progress...lol

A shepherd was herding his flock in a remote pasture when suddenly a brand-new BMW drives up in a cloud of dust.

The driver, a young man in an Armani suit, Gucci shoes, Ray Ban sunglasses and YSL tie, leans out the window and asks the shepherd: "If I tell you exactly how many sheep you have in your flock, will you give me one?"

The shepherd looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing flock and calmly answers: "Sure. Why not?"

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his AT&T cell phone, surfs to a NASA page on the internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite navigation system to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra high resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany. Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored.

He then accesses a MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with hundreds of complex formulas. He uploads all of this data via an email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response. Finally, he prints out a full color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer and finally turns to the shepherd and says: "You have exactly 1586 sheep."

"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my sheep." says the shepherd.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on amused as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then the shepherd says to the young man: "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my sheep?"

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says: "Okay, why not?"

"You're a consultant." says the shepherd. "Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required", answered the shepherd. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked; and you don't know crap about my business... Now give me back my dog."
