PRAYERS TO BREAK POVERTY AND PRAYERS TO BLESS THE JEWS-- Richard Sicheneder and Earbin Stanciell, MD Submitted by Paul Cox, Aslan's Placehttp://www.aslansplace.com/

About Special Prayers:
I've been surprised through the years at how many people have appreciated the specific prayers for deliverance and prayers to accomplish targeted issues that Paul Cox of Aslan's Place has accumulated. But to say his prayers are powerful would be a wild understatement.
Paul's booklet of prayers to break generational curses can be found at: www.elijahshopper.com/detail.aspx?ID=2096 and below in the ads following these prayers.
I've seen my own wife (and it's happened to me as well) read certain prayers that Paul has given each of us, and we've each broken down in tears as we've read them. Other times, while the prayers accomplish their intended purpose, they have caused no emotion at all.
Please read these two important prayers as they have been, I believe, given prophetically for your use.
Pray for the breaking of poverty!
Pray for the blessings of Israel! And the Jewish People!
And blessings to you!

Prayer of Agreement to Bless the Jews
Lord, I come to you now asking your forgiveness for anything I have said or done that cursed the Sons of Israel (name specific sins if known).
I understand your righteous decree, that You will bless those who bless them and curse those who curse them. I now ask you to break any curses on my family or me that are there because of these sins against the Jews. I plead the blood of Jesus and ask to be cleansed from all sin and unrighteousness.
Lord, I submit to Your plan for my life and ministry that will bless the Jews. I also agree with Your plans and purposes for the nation of Israel. Lord, I want to receive Your heart for Your people, and the courage to do Your will, no matter what the opposition may be.
Lord, help me to humble myself and make the Jew first in my prayers and ministry to the lost. Lord, release to me provisions and favor to bless and protect the Jews.
Lord, confirm your message in me with signs and an inner witness of the Holy Spirit.
In Yeshua’s name, Amen

"GOD SAYS, 'NO, YOU HAVE NOT FAILED'"--Al Thomas
Celebrating His Life Ministrieshttp://www.celebratinghislife.org/ a.thomas@myactv.net
THE VERY THING YOU THOUGHT WAS A DEFEAT, GOD SAYS WAS A VICTORY…
I strongly sense many people are feeling like they failed God and are being pushed around by Satan's lies concerning (supposed) barren years and lost opportunities. Others feel time has slipped through their fingers, having missed the "moment." Yes, sometimes we do fail, but more than often, the enemy convinces us we have blown it when we have not. We know from our experiences in school, that many teachers grade their tests differently. The ones we think, "I'm sure I failed that one", we get it back: "PASSED"! When we think about the Master Teacher, he grades his tests gently, I believe. There's more room for error, so to speak. The grading system is different than our human thinking and from His perspective, not ours. You may think you've failed some, but when you stand before Jesus, He will notify you: "PASSED!"
God spoke this to me: "YOU ARE NOT 'DEFEATED'– SATAN IS, 'YOU HAVE NOT FAILED'–SATAN HAS….""Satan has succeeded in making many of My children feel like failures. In their weakest moments they agreed with him. Here is the real truth, you passed the test (Matthew 25:21). Where the enemy had you thinking you were like Demas 'having loved this present world' (2 Timothy 4:10) I declare to you, this light affliction (which the enemy meant for evil) will allow you to recapture that resolve and determination that you thought was lost years ago…all is well, my child. Let your heart leap with hope. Hear all of heaven's voice say to you, the sun is rising."
"WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS A FOXHOLE IS ACTUALLY AN EAGLES NEST" "No, you weren't hiding in fear. You were simply waiting on Me (Psalm 62:5). You're smarter than you thought. You felt like you were being pursued by a monster, instead I was chasing you down for a blessing (Psalm 23:6). Now it's all starting to fall into place. Those hellish, negative discouraging thoughts tormenting you, I am now transforming into compliments! You are now ready to comfort others in a similar state" (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
"INSTEAD OF A PAST LITTERED WITH FAILURE – I PUT REWARDS IN YOUR ACCOUNT…." "Instead of feeling little and insignificant, see the truth from My perspective: Great advance for the Kingdom of God has been made. No longer should you berate yourself (that was the enemy) but instead start to hear the applause of heaven. Because of this, I want you to give thanks to Me and all I have done for you (Colossians 3:15). The enemy fooled you–but now I am revealing Him for what he really is: A lying, sneaky, deceptive foe who is defeated and powerless because of what My son did at the cross (Hebrews 2:14). I am awakening joy within you. Smile."
"MANY OF YOU THINK YOU BLEW IT BY WASTING ALL THOSE YEARS (AND EXPECTED ME TO CHASTISE YOU), INSTEAD I SAY 'WELL DONE MY CHILD, YOU WAITED ON ME IN SPITE OF THE VICIOUS ACCUSATIONS BY THE ENEMY…YOU HAVE DONE WELL'"
"What you thought were barren years was instead preparation for great accomplishments. Like a glorious light coming toward you, suddenly My marvelous plans will start to become clear. You didn't blow it…the enemy did. I was holding your hand the whole time (Hebrews 13:5). Yesterday you randomly picked up the Bible and it always seemed to fall on verses speaking of punishment and condemnation…now you will purposely turn to scripture confirming that you are loved (Deuteronomy 33:27) and accepted with open arms. You're not too late, but right on time (Phil. 1:6)."
"PREVIOUSLY CONVINCED YOU HAD FAILED, NOW HEAVEN WILL OPEN UP BEFORE YOU"
"You will soon sense a glorious future before you. I will open doors of blessing and opportunity. Discouragement will burn away like dew when the sun comes up. Where there was confusion and bewilderment, there will be clear sailing and calm seas (Mark 4:39). You will think it's a dream... but it's real. Satan will feel humiliated and shirk back knowing he can do nothing to stop the avalanche of My goodness coming your way (Psalm 31:19). An embarrassed devil (instead of just backing off) will flee from you fearful he will get overrun (Luke 10:19). The truth of who you are will sink in…a child of Mine (Psalm 5:2; 84: 1-5). You'll not only feel relieved but once again happy and strong. You will feel like flying (and your spirit will). You will arise and be strong, picking up (and dusting off) your weapons (Ephesians 6:10-17). You will know that I, your Lord, has not only restored your dignity, but given you the city. You can go forth now, never looking back (Luke 9:62) only upward.
Your vision will be clear, your steps firm and your soul will be on fire. That verse that previously seemed so hollow and distant will reverberate through your spirit: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13). It will seem like your faith has faith.
Child of Mine, you're back…and you're not alone." (Mark 16:20).

JOSHUA TIME PARK IT!
By; Joshua M. Robinson

JOSHUA TIME

My name is Joshua Robinson and I’m a 25-year-old man I have cerebral palsy, which effects my walking and my speech. I’m a too the point writer and sometimes too blunt of a person in my writings and emails.

EKU NEEDS TO PARK IT

This is for all students who drive especially the handicap stdents who drive yes handicap students do and can drive.

I know that students have to pay for parking permits. My dad has used my car to take my brother to school and every year my car gets a but load of tickets for no reason; my brother is temporarily legally blind. I have a handicap parking sticker issued by the state and I still got tickets. It is not fair nor right for students ot faculty to park a mile or more from their class, apartment, or dorm. For people like me who can not walk good and have to use a wheelchair to get to class it is absolutely terrible.

When I was at Lee university in Cleveland, Tennessee I nor any other students had to pay for parking also parking students could park closer to their classes and their dorms. Lee University was a private University meaning they could charge high tution and charge for parking however the difference is Lee University had accessible parking. Somerset Community although it was a commuter college they did not charge for parking. Somerset had about 6handicap parking spots most of those was taken and no tickets were given out. At Lee University when students parked in handicap spots they got a boot which is something on the wheel and you had to pay to get it off.

For cops and campus security who have nothing better to do than ticket cars they need to look at the cars that do not have handicap parking stickers. They do not do it and it is not right for cars that do have propper identification to be ticketed; especially when the campus is not accesible for any students. My dad has seen cars get towed just for parking legally. I have seen cars park in handicap spots with no handicap identification and those cars not get ticketed or towed.

EKU charges 30.00 a year for parking permits, lets not forget all the other expenses EKU and other schools, universities, and colleges charge. Its not fair an EKU NEEDS TO PARK IT!
It takes more time to park a car in the propper spot and walk to class and when a person gets to class they are so wore out its hard to learn. You can not enjoy class or learn when your out of breath looking for a parking spot; teachers and bosses do not like their students and or employees to be late for class/work. However when people have to park a mile or more a way from the class building, dorm, or apartment it gets bothersome. Its either park far away and be late to class or park close to class and risk being towed or ticketed. My dad has seen cars get towed just for parking legally. I have seen cars park in handicap spots with no handicap identification and those cars not get ticketed or towed.

Some one needs to rise up talk to EKU the campus security and talk to the cops.
I would love to see the cops and campus security be in the students position when it comes to parking, maybe then they would be learn how its like to park far away and still be expected to be at class/work on time.

I’ll be driving again after Feb 07 and this is another big ticket item for me. My back should be healed up it has been 6weeks since my back surgery and I have hated life. Since I will not have no help with my wheelchair, I will probably have to walk to class and I do fall a lot. I’m tough however I do not want to mess my surgery up. Nevertheless I chose to jump out of frying pan back in to the fire. I chose not to take a break after my surgery.

I chose to do something about the parking situation by writing this, see if I fall and get hurt or any one falls and gets hurt it is not mine nor the person that gets hurts People do not get hurt on purpose However walking can be a chore and hard to do for some people.

These options are realistic if done right; something needs to be done not just for me but for all students so here is my proposed challenges. 01 Lets carpool it will save gas plus it will give people a chance to help out. 02 Lets not get parking permits just walk to class. 03 The third option is risky but I’m going to say it lets park get ticketed or towed once there is no more cars to tow or ticket they lose money when they start losing money then students can talk to them. Because it is all about the money once the money goes the cops and the school will be able to talk.

For those who want a map of the EKU parking go here http://www.prm.eku.edu/web/campusmap/campusmap03feb2005.bmp

For people who have internet access you can look the parking rules up here at this address http://www.parking.eku.edu/parkreg/

I had emailed the parking office some questions they have not got back to me; here are the questions I emailed them and said, "I'm doing an article for the paper and I need to ask some questions about the parking.
01 How many handicap parking places are their on campus?
02 How many handicap parking places for each learning building and dorm?
03 How many parking permits were issued this year?
04 How many handicap parking permits were issued this year?
05 Why is a regular handicap state decal/permit not suficient?
Is this good to get no response? Are they hiding something?

I guess truth does hurt but they can handle it!!!

I know life can get hard and its easy to get bitter nevertheless we should not complain about something we are not willing to take a stand and do something about I have done my part by writing this. I hope others will stand with me and tell the school tell some one we need to make the campus and the class room buildings more accesible and accomadate people with disabilities.

John 3:16 Please Check Out My New Book At... www.publishedauthors.net/KathyMontgomery/---------- Forwarded Message ----------
It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7): " Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Here are some men and women who mocked God: JOHN LENNON: Some years before during his interview with an American Magazine, he said: "Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him" (1966)". Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than JesusChrist, was shot six times. TANCREDO NEVES: During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died. CAZUZA: During a show in Canecão (Rio de Janeiro), whilst smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: God, that's for you. I can't even explain how he died. THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC: After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it" The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic. MARILYN MONROE: She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He is a preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus" A week later, she was found dead in her apartment. BON SCOTT: The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang: "Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to hell". On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his vomit. CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005 In Campinas, a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter - holdingher hand, who was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND MAY HE PROTECT YOU", She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE BOOT, COZ INSIDE HEREIT'S ALREADY FULL" Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the boot was intact. The police said there was no way the boot could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the boot was a crate of eggs, none was broken. Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.JESUS!!! P.S: If it was a joke, you could have sent it to everyone. So are you going to have courage to send this? I have done my part; Jesus said "If you get embarrassed about me, Iwill also get embarrassed about you before my father. What benefit does it have, if a man gains the whole world but loseshis soul? What can man give in exchange of his soul? (Mathew 16:26).

JOSHUA TIME 316

I Love You Anyway
The fear of rejection may be one of the most basic fears of the human experience. Dr. Joe Harding tells a heart-warming story of a man who finally decided to ask his boss for a raise in salary. It was Friday. He told his wife that morning what he was about to do, All day the man felt nervous and apprehensive. Late in the afternoon he summoned the courage to approach his employer. To his delight, the boss agreed to a raise.
The man arrived home to a beautiful table set with their best china. Candles were lighted. His wife had prepared a festive meal. Immediately he figured that someone from the office had tipped her off! Finding his wife in the kitchen, he told her the good news. They embraced and kissed, then sat down to a wonderful meal. Next to his plate the man found a beautiful lettered note. It read: "Congratulations, darling! I knew you'd get the raise! These things will tell you how much I love you."
While on his way to the kitchen to get dessert he noticed that a second card had fallen from her pocket. Picking it off the floor, he read: "Don't worry about not getting the raise! You deserve it anyway! These things will tell you how much I love you."
Total acceptance! Total love. Her love for him was not contingent upon his success at work. In fact, just the opposite. If he were to fail there, if he were to be rejected by his boss he'd be all the more accepted at home. She stood behind him no matter what; softening the blows, healing the wounds, believing in him, loving him. We can be rejected by almost anyone if we're loved by one.
That's the way families can be with each other. And I like to think that's the way God is with us, too! "We love because He first loved us."

AN EMAIL FROM ONE OF MY NEWSPAPER EDITORS

Josh,Thanks for getting back with me. Since you are cool with the editing I did, we'll go ahead and run it in this week's paper. There were a few editing/grammar problems that I corrected, but that wasn't the only reason I made the column shorter. We don't have a lot of space in the newspaper and your column was kind of long so I took out some of the things I didn't think fit with your topic, but I thought you did a great job overall. As far as being a regular columnist, I don' think that is going to work out for this semester because we just don't have the space for it. If you would like though, go ahead and write another my turn and we may be able to run it later in the semester. If you would like, e-mail me some of your ideas and we can talk about which one would be the best for your next My Turn. But, like I said, it will be later in the semester before we can run it. Myself and some of the other copy editors will look over your My Turn again for editing concerns. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me.

Thanks,Tracy

I didn' t mean to suggest that you had an exact word limit for your My Turn. Usually they are around 500 or 600 words, but it doesn't always have to be. Some of the stuff I took out when I edited was just to make the column more concise. When I get some time I'll look over the second column and we can talk about when we might want it to run in the paper later this semester. I thought all of your ideas were good. As far as righting more for th paper you'll have to speak with the editor Bob Flynn. I only control the opinion pages, but I am sure they'll find some more stuff for you to do.

Thanks,
Tracy

With that said, the no-spin facts are tuition at Eastern is $2,300. That does not include books or parking permits. Charging that much for tuition is something Eastern can handle. I was told the other day that I could handle using my wheelchair on my own. That is good to know since my classes are all over campus. I know we are adults and are responsible for getting to class. However, Eastern and other schools are responsible for making learning accessible and accommodating.

I know several people who are handicapped including my brother. I just came from Somerset Community College where the accessibility was a little better. Eastern has more students than Somerset and its tuition is higher than Somerset. Eastern requires students to have a school e-mail account and it charges students a technology fee, but for what? So it can make more money? Eastern could be using the money to make the university more handicapped accessible, but that would be too much to ask wouldn’t it?

Eastern’s disabilities coordinator said I could handle pushing myself in a wheelchair. I’m aware the university has had to move several classes because of accessibility issues, but Eastern has had 100 years to make accommodations for students with disabilities.

I went to my newspaper practicum class on Jan. 24. I went from Alumni Coliseum to Donovan Annex. However, to get to Donovan I had to go through Model Laboratory School. The doors are locked on the Model building and I had to go through the grass and mud with my wheelchair, which is not fair to myself or any other student.

It was asked to a professor what if a student sues the school for the non-accessibility of some buildings for students with disabilities. The professor said the student would probably win. Maybe some one should sue. It might wake Eastern and other universities up. I’m not talking about a hand out. All I’m saying is Eastern should make things accessible.

Some of the buildings do not have automatic door opener buttons, other buildings do not have elevators, and lets not forget about ramps. How can students learn when they are worn out from struggling to get from one class to the other? It is impossible. It took me thirteen minutes to get from one building to the other and that was with someone pushing my wheelchair.

For anyone who says I can handle it, I’d like you to get in a wheelchair and push yourself and make it from one building to the next in 15minutes. I just had back surgery. I’m too dumb to take a break yet, too smart to give up and I never say die because then I will die.

We have got people who cannot see. However, the university acts like they can. Have you ever had to go from watching a big television to reading a book? Your eyes hurt so bad you get headaches and you’re expected to use a computer because you have one but you cannot see to use it.

We have people who cannot hear yet they have to read lips to have a little normalcy to their lives.

We have people like me who cannot talk well. I have to write things down on my laptop for teachers to understand me. I am also using a wheelchair and that is why I can relate to people who are confined to wheelchairs.

Some one needs to rise up and let the university know there is something wrong with a $2,300 tuition, books that cost $100 a piece, no handicap-accessible parking and no accessible accommodations for students with disabilities.

Memo from GOD....
Effective immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need tomake in YOUR life. These changes need to be completed in order that I mayfulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in thislife. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing,this seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you the 10Commandments. Keep them. But follow these 10 guidelines, also.
1. QUIT WORRYINGLife has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have youforgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you?Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?
2. PUT IT ON THE LISTSomething needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOURlist. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of theproblem. I can't help you until you turn it over to Me. And although Myto-do-list is long, I am after all... God. I can take care of anything youput into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I takecare of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.
3. TRUST MEOnce you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trustin Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, yourproblems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotionalroller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. Allyou have to do is ask.
4. LEAVE IT ALONEDon't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, Ithink I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling strongernow? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. Ialso renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that ifI give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started?Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job.
5. TALK TO MEI want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy.Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. Butthere's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk toMe - OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Mein on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talkabout your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversationwith Me. I want to be your dearest friend.
6. HAVE FAITHI see a lot of things from up here that you can't see From where you are.Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me; you wouldn't wantthe view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, andmeet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much biggertask than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing yoursimple part. How hard can trust! be?
7. SHAREYou were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did youforget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunatethan you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share yourlaughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share yourtears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with thosewho have none.
8. BE PATIENTI managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverseexperiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobsmany times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands ofpeople, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when ittakes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on Myto-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because Icreated the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I shouldalways rush, rush, rush.
9. BE KINDBe kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may notdress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I stilllove you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of youdifferent in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical.Please, know I love each of your differences.
10. LOVE YOURSELFAs much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by mefor one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God ofLove. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes Myheart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. Youare very precious to me. Don't ever forget that!
~~~With all My heart,I love YOU!God
This new version of the "footprints" story really caught me off guard at the end...What a blessing JUST READ IT! FOOTPRINTS...A New Version Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace. But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns. For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but graduallyyour footprints come more in linewith the Lord's, soon parallelingHis consistently. You and Jesus are walking astrue friends! This seems perfect, butthen an interesting thing happens:Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are nowwalking precisely in His steps. Inside His larger footprintsare your smaller ones, you andJesus are becoming one. This goes on for many miles, but gradually you noticeanother change. The footprintsinside the large footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually they disappearaltogether. There is only one setof footprints. They have becomeone. This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints. You are amazed and shocked. Your dream ends. Now you pray: "Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You." "That is correct." "And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely." "Very good.. You have understood everything so far." When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way." "Precisely." "So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first." There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice. "You didn't know? It was then that we danced!"
To everything there is aseason, a time for every purposeunder heaven: A time to weep, atime to laugh, a time to mourn, anda time to dance. Ecclesiastes 3:1,4. Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, butwhen you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny isn't it?Are you laughing? Are youthinking? Spread the Word andgive thanks to the Lord for He isgood! Funny isn't it, when you go to forward this message, how many on your list are not receiving it because you're not sure they believe in anything? Sad. It's not WHAT you have in your life, but Whom you have in your life that counts... Think about that! I ASKED GOD I asked for a flower, He gave me a garden. I asked for a tree, He gave me a forest. I asked for a river, He gave me an ocean. I asked for a friend, He gave me "YOU." Send this to whomever you think of as a friend..... I did.
JOSHUA TIME PARK IT
MY TURN ON THE EKU PARKING
By; Joshua M. Robinson
JOSHUA TIME
My name is Joshua Robinson and I’m a 25-year-old man I have cerebral palsy, which effects my walking and my speech. I’m a too the point writer and sometimes too blunt of a person in my writings and emails.
EKU NEEDS TO PARK IT
I know that students have to pay for parking permits. My dad has used my car to take my brother to school and every year my car gets a but load of tickets for no reason. I have a handicap parking sticker and it is not fair nor right for students ot faculty to park a mile or more from their class, apartment, or dorm. For people like me who can not walk good and have to use a wheelchair to get to class it is absolutely terrible.
For cops and campus security who have nothing better to do than ticket cars they need to look at the cars that do not have handicap parking stickers. They do not do it and it is not right for cars that do have propper identification to be ticketed; especially when the campus is not accesible for any students. EKU charges 30.00 a year for parking permits, lets not forget all the other expenses EKU and other schools, universities, and colleges charge. Its not fair an EKU NEEDS TO PARK IT!
It takes more time to park a car in the propper spot and walk to class and when a person gets to class they are so wore out its hard to learn. You can not enjoy class or learn when your out of breath looking for a parking spot; teachers and bosses do not like their students and or employees to be late for class/work. However when people have to park a mile or more a way from the class building, dorm, or apartment it gets bothersome. Its either park far away and be late to class or park close to class and risk being towed or ticketed. My dad has seen cars get towed just for parking legally.Some one needs to rise up talk to EKU the campus security and talk to the cops.
I would love to see the cops and campus security be in the students position when it comes to parking, maybe then they would be learn how its like to park far away and still be expected to be at class/work on time.
I’ll be driving again after Feb 07 and this is another big ticket item for me. My back should be healed up it has been 6weeks since my back surgery and I have hated life. Since I will not have no help with my wheelchair, I will probably have to walk to class and I do fall a lot. I’m tough however I do not want to mess my surgery up. Nevertheless I chose to jump out of frying pan back in to the fire. I chose not to take a break after my surgery.
I chose to do something about the parking situation by writing this, see if I fall and get hurt or any one falls and gets hurt it is not mine nor the person that gets hurts People do not get hurt on purpose However walking can be a chore and hard to do for some people.
Something needs to be done not just for me but for all students so here is my proposed challenges. 01 Lets carpool it will save gas plus it will give people a chance to help out. 02 Lets not get parking permits just walk to class. 03 The third option is risky but I’m going to say it lets park get ticketed or towed once there is no more cars to tow or ticket they lose money when they start losing money then students can talk to them. Because it is all about the money.
I guess truth does hurt but they can handle it!!!
I know life can get hard and its easy to get bitter nevertheless we should not complain about something we are not willing to take a stand and do something about I have done my part by writing this. I hope others will stand with me and tell the school tell some one we need to make the campus and the class room buildings more accesible and accomadate people with disabilities.
If I could I would also like to plug my JOSHUA TIME SITE I created a website and I was wantting everyone that would to check it out I write everything on thissite...
