...LIGHT SNOW EXPECTED LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...
A DEEPENING AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK NORTHEAST OUT OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY DURING CHRISTMAS DAY...SPREADING WIDESPREAD RAIN ACROSS THE AREA. AS THE LOW INTENSIFIES AND MOVES NORTH OF EASTERN KENTUCKY...COLD AIR WILL BE WRAPPED IN BEHIND THE SYSTEM...CHANGING ANY RAIN TO SNOW AFTER MIDNIGHT MONDAY NIGHT. LIGHT SNOW WILL LINGER THROUGH THE DAY ON TUESDAY BEFORE TAPERING OFF GRADUALLY AFTER TUESDAY EVENING. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH THE TRACK AND INTENSITY OF THIS STORM SYSTEM... HOWEVER LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY... WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR 1 TO 2 INCHES IN MOST LOCATIONS...AND 2 TO 3 INCHES IN THE AREAS OF HIGHER TERRAIN NEAR VIRGINIA AND WEST VIRGINIA.
